Good Luck to those of you in Northwest School District who are anxiously awaiting the results of the bond issue!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
For those of you who have NO IDEA what I'm talking about, many good friends of myself and Dear Husband teach in the second largest school district in Jackson County, MI. This district has a shameful history of not passing bond issues for the schools, and now, after many, MANY years of this occurring, the schools are falling down around the students. There are actually classes being taught in storage closets, and it is just SHAMEFUL. Many people who live in the district are either elderly or no longer have children of school age and so don't care, thinking that it doesn't have an effect on them. I'm not sure what they are thinking, because last time I knew, quality of school district has a pretty strong impact on property value. Anyway....This will be the second bond attempt in four years.....they desperately need it.

I don't understand why people won't give money to the schools. Don't they get that those children will some day grow up and run their county? Might want them educated or else they are going to pay for it in their "golden" years.
There are SO MANY good teachers in this district, too....it really is a shame. Hopefully I'll know tomorrow how it went.
