Peace

As I sit here, everything is quiet. Both kids are happily entranced with a Baby Einstein video. The dog is laying peacefully under my feet. Did I say DOG? Yes, we are the TEMPORARY keepers of a female shepherd puppy, who jumped into our van last night as we were getting the kids out after church. She has a collar, but no tags. We have no idea where she came from, but she's here for right now. Neither of us are ready for a dog right now, although I'd like one maybe after baby #3 is a year old. We did all the usual stuff, put signs up, called animal control and the Humane Society. We're applying our Dog Whisperer knowledge, and she's doing pretty good. She's not house broken, but she shows some hope. This is the second dog we've found in two months. The first one ended up belonging to the folks across the street, though.

Like I said, I really am not ready for a dog right now, but it still feels nice to have one in the house again. I grew up with dogs, and it's been a while. It's nice to see how the kids are around her: not overly excited and very gentle, willing to give her space. She's equally good with the kids, which is nice. Our cats....well, they're a little pissed with us right now...hehe. "First the children, now a DOG?!!!" They'll get over it. Hopefully, she won't be here so long that it makes much of a difference!

Okay, I can't help but laugh at the dog you found that belonged to the family across the street. That's funny stuff right thar.
