I turned on my trusty point-and-shoot Canon digital Elph yesterday and...nothing. At least, no picture on the LCD...except when in playback mode. So, in a desperate attempt, I emailed Canon...and guess what??
It is a common problem with the cameras, and so they are paying for shipping and handling and repairs for FREE!!!!
However, I will probably not be able to have the camera in time for my Florida trip in a week. I guess I'll be doing disposables for a while...

I hope you didn't lose any images that are already on the memory card.
Nope, I didn't...it didn't seem to have any impact on the memory card itself, thankfully.
